We've delivered DCPs that have sailed through QC at major distributors, and screened at Sundance, Berlin, Venice, Cannes, Toronto, SXSW, and many more. Our highly efficient pipeline allows us to offer some of the lowest prices of any DCP creation service.
MakeDCP is a service of Nice Dissolve Digital Cinema.
How it Works
Send us your master. It can be almost any standard professional video format. Most people send a ProRes QuickTime file, but uncompressed QuickTime, DPX, etc. will also work great. 5.1 audio is strongly recommended (and required by some festivals.)
You can ship us a hard drive or, if you’re nearby, drop one off at our facility in Brooklyn. If your master is small enough (typically short films only), you can even upload it.
We’ll create your DCP.When it’s ready, we'll make the copies you’ve requested and ship them to you, along with the master hard drive you sent us, if any.
Need more copies later? No problem. We’ll retain copies of the DCP elements we make for 12 months, so we can create and ship new copies whenever you need them without having to charge a new authoring fee. Just pay for the additional drives and shipping.
What it Costs
Encoding a 90 minute feature DCP starts at just $720 with 5-day turnaround or $540 with 10-day turnaround. CRU hard drives, standard for distributing feature DCPs, are $200 each. A USB flash drive, suitable for a short DCP, is just $35.
We’ve pre-filled some of the most common options so you can see how things work. Customize them for your project or clear the form and start fresh.
